England - Once Brewed

The owner of the Tea House promised us breakfast at 8:30 AM ... half an hour before opening and she definitely delivered. With just her preparing four fulls, we were eating by 8:40 and had great service.

Painfully hot day today!

Visited Thirlwall castle ruins ... early 14th century. Walking along Hadrians Wall was pleasant. Took a few photos. Stopped by the Twice Brewed Inn/Pub for a few bitters and a Murphy's. Stayed next door at the Once Brewed Youth Hostel.

I've developed a numbness in my left foot, toes and calf. I can only assume it's from the constant pounding. My legs have been eaten alive by midges since Middleton. I noticed the numbness a few days ago, but it seems to be getting worse. Hopefully everything holds up, only 56 miles to go. I'll need a new pair of boots after this trip ... the soles are nearly worn through.
